Bhalka Tirth

Bhalka Tirth is located about 90 km from Junagadh and just 4 km from Somnath. It is the place from where Lord Krishna left the earth for the heavenly abode after completing his incarnation.

As per Purana, there was a hunter by name Jara. One day, while hunting, he shot an arrow on a deer. But, unfortunately it happened to be the left foot of Lord Krishna, who was meditating under a tree. The arrow wounded Krishna mortally. Realizing his mistake, Jara apologized to Krishna. But, Krishna said "Oh, Jara !. You were Vali in your previous birth and you were killed by me as Rama and in this birth it became even as you killed me. All acts in this world happens as desired by me. So, you need not worry". Then, Lord Krishna went to Triveni Sangam from where he left the earth for the heavenly abode with his physical body.

According to Purana, Lord Krishna's disappearance marks the end of Dvapara Yuga and the start of Kali Yuga, which is dated to 3102 BCE.
