Statue of Unity

Facing the Sardar Sarovar Dam on river Narmada in Kevadiya, Statue of Unity is located at 200 km from Southeast of Ahmedabad, 150 km from Surat and 90 km from Vadodara (Baroda).

Standing tall at a height of 182 meters, the Statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, is the world tallest Statue surpassing the Spring Tale of Buddha, China (153 mtr) and Statue of Liberty, USA (93 mtr).

Showcasing the Indian architecture's elegance across the world, this prolific creation has become the "icon" of Modern India. This "iconic" representation of "Iron Man" Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who united 500+ princely states of India post independance, reminds the world optly the "Towering" personlity.

The Statue of Unity was constructed by Larsen & Toubro. It took 56 months to construct with 3000 workers and 250 Engineers with a total construction cost of Rs. 2,989 crores. The Sculpture was designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar. And, it was inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on 31st Oct 2018, the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

The statue is built to withstand Winds up to the speed of 180 km/hr and Earthquakes measuring 6.5 on the Richter scale. The core of the statue used 6500 tonnes of structural steel, and 18500 tonnes of reinforced steel. The height of the Statue was specifically chosen to 182 mtr to match the number of seats in Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
